Prepare your stay in our cottages

Whether you are coming for a weekend of total disconnection in nature, to explore the forest trails of the High Fens, or to share friendly moments with family, a successful stay begins with good preparation. Late arrivals, bed linen, welcoming your four-legged companions, or baby equipment… We have gathered here all the answers to the most frequently asked questions to help you plan your vacation in Xhoffraix-Malmedy with peace of mind.

1. Booking, Payment & Cancellation

Is a deposit required and what does it include?
  • Yes, a deposit corresponding to 50% of the total price of your stay (excluding cleaning fees and security deposit) is required.
  • This deposit must be paid within 7 days of receiving your contract.
  • The remaining balance (including cleaning fees and security deposit) must be settled 15 days before your arrival.
  • Yes, a security deposit is required for each stay.
  • The amount ranges between €300 and €800 depending on the cottage booked.
  • You will find the exact amount on the page for each accommodation.
  • 20% of the total price: from contract signing up to 29 days before arrival.
  • 50% of the total price: between 29 and 15 days before arrival.
  • 75% of the total price: between 14 and 8 days before arrival.
  • 100% of the total price: from 7 days before arrival or in case of no-show.

2. Arrival & Departure

What are the check-in and check-out times?
  • Check-in: Your cottage is available from 4:00 PM.
  • Check-out: Before 10:00 AM on weekdays. Before 4:00 PM on Sundays and Belgian public holidays.
  • Check-in is fully self-service.
  • You will receive the key box code 5 days before your arrival.The box is installed next to the entrance door.
  • On your departure day, simply return the key to the same key box.

3. Bed Linens & Baby Equipment

Are duvets and pillows provided?
Yes, duvets and pillows are automatically provided in your rental.
Yes, we offer an optional rental service:
  • Bed sheets only: €12 / person.
  • Bed sheets + bath towels: €15 / person.
⚠️ Please note: This service must be booked in advance (at least 5 days before your arrival) and is subject to availability.
  • Upon arrival: You will need to make the beds yourselves.
  • Upon departure: please strip the beds and place the sheets in the pink bags provided for this purpose.
  • Cottages with a capacity of less than 16 people: We provide 1 high chair and 1 travel cot.
  • Cottages with a larger capacity: We provide 2 high chairs and 2 travel cots.

Note: Remember to bring a small mattress to ensure your child’s comfort.

4. Daily Life, Kitchen & Outdoor

How is the kitchen equipped?

All our kitchens are fully equipped. You will find the precise details of utensils and appliances on the descriptive page of each cottage.

Each cottage has two types of machines:

  • Two filter coffee makers (1 coffee maker for gîtes with a capacity of less than 16 people).
    You will need to bring your own coffee filters.
  • A Senseo pod coffee machine.

To start your stay peacefully, we provide a starter kit:

  • 2 PMC (plastic/metal/carton recycling) bags, 2 black garbage bags.
  • 2 dishwasher tablets.
  • 1 tea towel, dishwashing liquid, 1 dishcloth, and 1 sponge.

Please note: Spices, condiments, and toilet paper must be brought by yourself.

  • We offer a first bag of wood free of charge (including 5 logs).
  • Additional bags consumed during your stay will be billed at €10 / bag.
Yes, all our cottages are equipped with a washing machine as well as a drying rack.
Yes, all our cottages feature a barbecue (grill dimensions: $40 \times 80\text{ cm}$). Just remember to bring your own charcoal.

5. Dogs & Activities

Are dogs allowed?
  • Yes, your four-legged companions are welcome with us!
  • We accept a maximum of 3 dogs per cottage.
  • An extra fee of €20 / dog applies for the stay.
  • Our beautiful High Fens region is full of treasures: nature walks, cultural visits, local gastronomy, sports, or family activities.
