Whether you come to admire the traditional masks of the Cwarmê (the Malmedy Carnival), celebrate local festivities around the Giant Omelette, or experience the magic of seasonal markets, our region guarantees complete immersion. We have selected the must-see events and local traditions that define the heart of the High Fens. Let yourself be carried away by the celebrations and experience the authentic Ardennes!

A true early-summer institution, the Saint-Pierre Funfair (Foire de la Saint-Pierre) transforms the heart of Malmedy into a lively stage of celebration and warmth. For several days in late June and early July, Place Albert Ier and surrounding streets come alive with the sounds of carnival rides and laughter. It is one of the highlights of local life, where festive spirit and friendly atmosphere shine bright, just a short drive from our Maisons de Vacances and Chalets Hautes-Fagnes.
If you are lucky enough to stay in one of our gîtes during the “Four Fat Days”, you will experience Malmedy at its most vibrant. Recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the Cwarmê is far more than a simple carnival: it is an explosion of colour, music, and centuries-old traditions that have set the rhythm of local life for generations.
Every August 15th, the Place de Rome in Malmedy transforms into the stage for an unusual and delicious spectacle: the cooking of the Giant Omelette. Hosted by the Confrérie Mondiale des Chevaliers de l’Omelette Géante, this festive event attracts thousands of curious visitors from around the world to share a joyful gathering around a monumental frying pan.
